Get Back on the Pitch

If you or your child is suffering from a soccer-related injury, Capital Area PT can help get you back in the game. Our physical therapists offer a comprehensive rehabilitation program, including functional movement screening, manual therapy, pain management, and sport-specific training.

Common Soccer Injuries

The running, kicking, and quick direction changes in soccer can cause various injuries to the ankle, leg and knee. Injuries can develop from overuse, or as a result of contact with another soccer player, landing awkwardly, tripping, or forcefully twisting or pivoting during practice or a game.

• Ankle sprains
• ACL tears
• Meniscus tears
• Shin splints
• Hamstring strains
• Groin injuries

Physical Therapy for Soccer Injuries

Our physical therapists provide customized, hands-on rehabilitation for soccer injuries based on the type of injury and the athlete. In every case, our goal is to reduce pain and restore strength and mobility so you can safely return to the sport.

On your first visit, we’ll perform an initial evaluation and physical examination to create a personalized treatment program. Programs typically include a combination of heat and cold modalities to reduce pain and swelling, manual therapy, soccer-specific strengthening and training exercises, a discussion on loading progression and a plan for on-field rehabilitation.
