Suffering from Low back pain?
Low back pain (LBP) is one of the most common health conditions worldwide. One of the most common causes is a slow development over time from repetitive movements in which are bodies are moving incorrectly. Improving skill and coordination in movement can help elevate LBP and prevent it from recurring. Motor control exercises may be key in your recovery.
What is motor control?
Motor control exercise aim to improve the coordination of muscles that control and support the spine. The aim is to retrain deep trunk muscles to turn on to support your spine in movement. It begins by performing simple tasks to help the body learn how to reuse the right muscles properly. As skill is demonstrated exercises become more functional in nature to mimic the tasks you need to perform throughout your everyday life. At Capital Area PT and wellness we are trained to help you develop greater motor control and complement it with our skilled manual techniques to get you back to a healthy and active lifestyle.
